Traditionally financial planning has focused on building wealth for clients, yet many clients have not clearly articulated how they want to use that wealth to enhance their life. This often means they don’t focus on a clear and tangible goal and don’t feel a sense of achievement – despite their growing wealth. As Financial Planning specialists, our role is to help you build a clear picture of your unique future, including your personal life goals and aspirations.
All of our advice, recommendations and strategies, must be anchored on your unique objectives.
In financial and lifestyle planning advice, there is never, nor should there be, a one size fits all solution that will meet all different people’s circumstances. In order for us to ensure that all of the strategies that we set in place are appropriate for your situation, we need to quantify the things that are important to you. This is where we start the relationship with all new clients. We get to know what is most important to you and what your short, medium and long term goals are.
This includes things such as:
- where you want to live
- how often you wish to travel
- are there property renovations you’d like to complete
- when and where you’d like your children to attend school
- if/when you’d like to build a business of your own
- when would you like to cease working
- what legacy do you want to leave
The most valuable element of Lifestyle Planning, is calculating if/when each of your lifestyle goals can be achieved. At Momentum, we achieve this via strategic scenario modelling of your options.
If your goals can be achieved, within your current means, we will let you know and you can start working towards them immediately.
If they can not be achieved in the timeframe you initially wanted, we can advise you on what you will need to do to achieve it in that timeframe, or alternatively what timeframe would work. This is very powerful advice that results in the achievement of your goals.
